Individuals all over the planet have been rushing to decide in favor of their number one padded fauna in Woodland and's Bird of the Century rivalry.

Countless votes have been projected, overpowering the association. Accordingly, the declaration of the champ has been deferred.

Last year the votes just finished out at a little more than 50,000.

This comes after entertainer John Oliver sent off a global mission to get the Pūteketeke, the Australasian Peaked Grebe chose.

He referred to his mission as "alarmingly forceful," setting up banners around New Zealand reporting Pūteketeke as 'Master of the Wings,' with boards in urban communities like Mumbai, Paris andTokyo.

Woodland and Bird CEO Nicola Toki told Morning Report generally, the energy in the opposition has been a gift.

"At the present time, the whole world and particularly New Zealand is confronting a biodiversity emergency and a piece of that emergency is individuals not feeling sufficiently associated or having the option to praise the things that make our place so exceptional," said Toki.

"The more individuals discussing our local natural life in New Zealand and how critical that is, especially off the rear of one more sort of political race, is perfect to me."

Toki said her group are working nonstop to figure out each and every vote, with the victor reported after Wednesday morning.
